So, during my recent !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , I kept joking to myself, why zipping around on my bike, that it seemed as if it was born to race across deserts..... The joke being that Cagiva Elefants were born to race across deserts, by virtue of being designed specifically to race in the Paris-Dakar from day one.

Anyway, came across this video a while back and kept meaning to post it.. So here it! Short compilation of footage of Cagiva bikes competing in the Paris-Dakar in the 80's and early 90's....

Kidding aside, old Dakar footage is best Dakar footage. I tend to prefer this one though:

That Daf TurboTwin is just a crazy piece of kit, I’ve seen it in the metal and it looks so much more purpose built than the current rally trucks of de Rooy.
